There has been times in my life that I have been fearful and wondering about the unknown. I have learned that it is important to find verses that focus on what we need. When I am feeling fearful, I know I need to read about fear. I learnred how I need to read about how to change my fear to faith. Grab your favorite drink, your Bible, and your notebook.
Let's read 5 verses that will help remind us where our faith comes from.
Just reading this verse reminds me how when we go through events in our life, we are not alone. God is always with us.
At a Bible study last Friday, I shared how there was so much fear and unknowns with the pandemic. Some of the grocery store aisles were barren. We need toilet paper. We need milk. What is there is not enough formula? There were so many questions during this time. Looking back, I can see how God walked with us. In the verse, he is talking about walking through the valley of the shadow of death. But the author of this verse shares how he will not fear. We can choose to put our fears down because we can remember that God is in control. It reminds me of the next verse, "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7. Friends, let's start today. I am challenging myself to remember to cast my fear into His Hands because He cares for me. He cares for you. He cares for us all.
"The LORD is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalm 27:1 is a good reminder for us that God is our light and our salvation. When we choose to follow Jesus as the Lord of our life, then He is our protection. He is our Salvation. He will walk with us everyday. The Lord will never leave you nor forsake you. Another part that is important to remember is that the Lord is our stronghold. What is a stronghold? Accroding to the Merriam- Webster Dictionary, a stronghold is a fortified place or a place of security or survival. If the Lord is our stronghold of my life then He is our protection. He offers security. When we are overwhelmed with tasks, chores, worry about a sickness, worried about people, or worried about work, then we can turn to God to help us. He can offer a peace that passes all understanding that will help us through our times of need. He will protect us and bring us through all events in our life. We can exchange our fear for faith in Him.
The Lord is talking to Israel in this verse. This can help us remember that God is with us. He will strengthen us and help us. Wow! This verse can be comforting and encouraging. "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10 NIV
Did you catch the part where He will uphold you with His righteous right hand? This verse can comfort us when we are going through problems or stressful times in our lives. God loves us so much that when we choose to follow Him, we are in His hands. Nothing and no one can pluck us from His hands. He is the good good Father. I needed to read this verse to remember that when I feel fearful or worry, I can trust God to help me. I can trust God to help me through. You can trust Him too.
